Someone caught your eye on the bus, in the coffee line, at last night's show? They're in
your app. Not profiles from the other side of the city — people you genuinely crossed
paths with.
End-to-end encrypted messages
No data ever sold
Ages 18 and up
Three steps
Go out. Cross paths. Discover.
1
You cross paths
Nothing to open, nothing to switch on. The app runs in the background and simply
notes that two phones were in the same place.
What passes from one to the other isn't your profile: it's an anonymous token,
renewed every fifteen minutes. The profiles only come together later, in the app.
2
Later, you find them again
In the evening, the “Recent” tab shows the people you crossed paths with that day. A
thumb to say you like them, a star to keep them as
a favourite, a trash can to set them aside.
Without a mutual like, the encounter fades on its own — and they will never know you
had liked them.
3
If it's mutual, it's a match
The conversation opens, encrypted end to end. Your personal contact details, though,
wait until you both agree to share them. Never before.
App screens shown in French. ProxiBlu is available in English and 29 other languages.
You had a great evening with people you didn't know, and everyone went home without
swapping a single number? That is exactly what the Social tab is for.
Find the gang
Pick the day and the time range: the app shows you the people you crossed paths with
during that time. Tick the ones from your evening, give the gang a name, and each of
them gets an invitation.
Those who accept meet again in a members-only discussion. A decline is only told to
the host and to the person who invited them.
Events
Drinks in the park, a karaoke night: invite your friends, your matches or people you
crossed paths with. Everyone answers “I'm going”, “Maybe” or “No thanks”.
Groups
A lasting place for your crowd: a discussion, polls, events reserved for members.
Private, by invitation — or public, for people nearby.
What's happening
Where should you go out to cross paths with people? The map shows the busy areas
around you over the last 24 hours, as aggregated zones — never one person's spot.
The Social menu also offers “Create/Find a gang”
(an open gang, to create or to ask to join),
“Find one or more people” (if you crossed paths with
someone but couldn't talk) and “Spontaneous
activity search” (an activity within the next seven days, where others say they'll
be there with one tap).
Chance already did the hard part. We just give it a second go.
Ordinary apps hand you strangers picked by an algorithm. ProxiBlu starts from the
opposite end: the city already introduced you to hundreds of people today. We give you
those people back.
You were already in the same place
Same neighbourhood, same hours, maybe the same café. You already share a life — that's
a far better starting point than a profile found 40 km away.
No endless catalogue
You don't swipe through thousands of faces. You see the people from your day, and they
disappear if nothing happens. Scarcity gives each profile its weight back.
Nobody learns anything about you
Your phone broadcasts nothing but an anonymous 16-byte token, renewed every fifteen
minutes. No name, no photo, no location travels over Bluetooth.
Inside the app
What you'll find when you open ProxiBlu
Live
At the top of the Encounters tab, “Live” shows only the people around you right now,
detected over Bluetooth, without your search filters. Useful in a bar or at a
festival: you pick 10, 20 or 30 minutes or 1 hour, then the screen goes back
to Recent on its own.
You can pick genders and an age range there, and how many people show at once: up to
50 with the free account, 100 with a paid plan.
Around my places
Work, the gym, a café: add by hand up to three places you frequent, each with a radius
(two with the free account). Every day, the “My places” tab shows you people who
frequent your areas: a thumb to like, a cross to pass. Two likes, and it's a match,
no encounter needed.
For a festival, add your dynamic place: set where you are, with a
50 m radius, for 24 hours, it shows you the people who set theirs in the
same spot.
No one sees your places or how far away they are. Each person only knows which of
their own places matches. The server rounds the
centre of your usual places: they never pinpoint an address.
The two-step match
A match opens the conversation and the description. Contact details — phone,
Instagram, Facebook, Telegram — need a second agreement, from both sides. That step is
never paid.
Encrypted messaging
Your messages are encrypted on your phone and decrypted on the other person's: even
we cannot read them. A backup protected by a password only you know follows you from
one phone to the next.
A typo? In the minutes after sending, you can edit a message or delete it for
everyone.
Your friends too
Add your friends by phone number or email, or invite the ones who don't have the app
through WhatsApp or another messaging app. Message each other, share your location for
the length of an outing, and show them a match — if your match agrees.
You can also introduce them to someone you crossed paths with, if that person allows
it, or to another of your friends: the person being introduced accepts or declines
each friend.
Before a first date
From a match's profile, “Going to meet” keeps the place, date, time and a comment, for
your safety. If you allow it, your phone sends your precise location at set times,
before and during the meetup, and you can let friends on the app know. The person
you're meeting knows nothing about it.
Share your live location with someone you trust, for 1 to 12 hours: the link
switches itself off and never says who you are with.
Block and report
A block is immediate, silent and works both ways: the person stops existing for you,
without being told. Every report is read by a member of the team.
Say hi if you cross paths again
After a match, ProxiBlu can discreetly let you know you are close by again. The
alert only fires if you have both agreed to it, and without any GPS.
Privacy
Built to know as little about you as possible
A dating app built on proximity is one of the most sensitive things you can install on
a phone. We built ours starting from that idea.
What we don't collect
Not your name, nor your date of birth, nor your address, nor your browsing history,
nor your card number. We never read your phone's address book, and we create no
biometric print of your face.
What Bluetooth carries
Sixteen unreadable bytes, valid for fifteen minutes, that only our server can resolve.
A phone next to yours can deduce nothing from them: neither who you are, nor that it's
the same person twice.
What the app never shows
Neither the place nor the time of an encounter: only the day. And it never tells
anyone who liked them until it's mutual.
What you control
Geolocation is optional and revocable. You can download a copy of your data in one
tap, and delete your account from the app or from
the web — even if you
have already uninstalled.
Conversations, sharing contact details and everything to do with safety stay free, for
everyone, all the time. We don't charge for caution.
With the free account
300 encounters kept, visible for 36 hours, 3 favourites that never
expire, and unlimited matches and messages. Friends, private events and gangs are
included.
From $3.50 a month
Premium keeps 1,000 encounters for 4 days, adds one Super Like a day, shows
“What's happening” hour by hour and up to 100 people at once in Live. And by default,
every person you refer earns you a credit worth one month.
The night is over. The gang doesn't have to be.
